1. Why Shotfairy.com?
Comfort and Convenience. At Shotfairy.com, our mission is to provide you and your family with convenient vaccinations in the comfort of your own home. Our state-licensed service is designed to ensure the health and safety of your entire family. We offer flu shots for adults, as well as flu and school vaccinations for children. Parents especially appreciate Shotfairy.com’s “sleep time service” in the comfort of their home. Our licensed nurses administer vaccines while your child is sleeping, thereby helping you and your children avoid the pain and anxiety associated with office vaccinations.

2. How much of the cost will my medical insurance plan reimburse?
At Shotfairy.com, we are committed to providing our patients with the highest quality of service at the lowest possible price. To that end, we have determined the cost of our services according to three components: the cost of the vaccine, the cost of the registered nurse (RN) visit and the cost of the home visit. Upon completion of our visit, we will e-mail you a billing statement, which provides both the total cost of the visit and a breakdown of how much each of the three components cost. Most insurance plans will reimburse you for the cost of both the vaccine and the RN visit. However, individual health insurance plans might vary, so you may want to check with your insurance provider regarding reimbursement. If you need information regarding reimbursement for specific billing codes (called CPT codes) please e-mail us at info@shotfairy.com

3. How do I obtain reimbursement from my medical insurance plan?
After the service, Shotfairy.com will e-mail you an itemized statement with the applicable costs and billing codes for the service provided. You can submit the statement to your provider as proof of payment in order to obtain reimbursement.

4. What can I expect from a Shotfairy.com visit?
After you complete our quick and easy online application, a Shotfairy.com nurse will come to your house at a time convenient for you. At Shotfairy.com, we are proud to employ only registered nurses (RNs). Shotfairy.com nurses have been specially trained in adult and pediatric vaccine administration and have years of experience giving shots. When Shotfairy.com arrives at your house, the nurse will discuss the vaccine process, provide applicable documentation, and then administer the vaccine. The Shotfairy.com nurse will provide you with the documentation of vaccination. You can submit this documentation to your pediatrician or doctor at the time of your next appointment.

5. What do I do in the event of a reaction to the vaccine?
Most children already have received routine vaccinations as infants, so the risk of an adverse reaction to vaccines is small. If a reaction does occur, you should contact your doctor’s office. In the event of an emergency, call 911. For more information on vaccines see www.immunize.org/vis

6. Is ShotFairy.com right for my family?
In the vast majority of cases, vaccines for children 2-6 years old will be administered during sleep to reduce discomfort and anxiety. Teenage, adult and senior vaccines, such as flu and tetanus, can be given in the convenience of the home during the scheduled time. If your child is a very light sleeper or has had a previous adverse reaction to vaccination, then Shotfairy.com may not be appropriate for your child.

7. Are multiple vaccinations given at once?
At Shotfairy.com, we administer only one childhood vaccine per night and will return as scheduled to
complete the series at a discounted rate. Generally, children of kindergarten/pre-school age receive
4 routine vaccinations:
  • DTaP (tetanus diphtheria pertussis);
  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella);
  • Varicella (chickenpox); and
  • IPV (polio)

Children also can receive injectable or nasal influenza vaccine. Flu vaccines and tetanus for teenagers, adults and seniors can be administered in the comfort of home.

8. Can the flu vaccine be administered to the whole family in one visit?
Yes. Family and senior discounts are available.

9. Does this service replace a kindergarten physical?
No. Kindergarten physicals still require a visit to your doctor. Our RN will provide you with verification of vaccination for your doctor’s office and medical records.
